इन आँखों की मस्ती के

You sometimes hear a song that fleetingly gets your attention, but you really don't pay serious attention to it until you become aware some characteristic the song has. I learnt recently that this song is, for the most part, in raag ♫भूपाली.

I am a student of this raag and, naturally, had to explore its lyrics: Bollywood's lyrics are sometimes amazing.

ज्योति कलश छलके

The raag is what attracted to me to the song first, and I subsequently discovered that it celebrates the onset of morning.

कांची रे, कांची रे, प्रीत मेरी साँची

Lovers argue why each should not leave the other ... The true meaning cannot be conveyed by a drab translation ... you have to experience the song in all its melody and semantics. I didn't discover until recently that the raag ♫भूपाली is behind this melody.

हम तुमसे न कुछ कह पाए

The lovers both fear that they could not share the feelings of love to each other ... and that those feelings would remain unexpressed ...

चन्दा है तू, मेरा सूरज है तू

A mother wishes a child well, in spite of her own difficulties, through lilting music. I selected this song to be included here, after I listened to Raag Bhoopali rendered by Vijay Prakash.
