गेरुआ

This song portrays love with several metaphors, some of which are highlighted below:
  1. "... wherever we met, time stood still." Time stood still is a sensation many poets have written about; the particular manner Deepak Chopra describes this feeling regarding love comes to mind.
  2. "Forgetting the [rest of the] world, I have met you. This wish has come forth of my heart ... that you give me — i.e., my life — the gerua color ...". Color is how many people describe liveliness, equating colorlessness with lack of life.
  3. "... I am the caravan, you are the destination to which every path leads." Bollywood lyricists equate the state of love to a desirable destination including, of course, the ultimate destination of reaching God.
Nice music, invites repeated listening.

तुम पास आये, यूँ मुस्कुराये यूँ ... कुछ कुछ होता है

An interesting description of being in a state of love.
"...बेचैनियों में चैन, न जाने क्यों, आने लगा..."
The singer sings "I don't know why I find peace even when I am consumed by lack of peace." Anyone who has experienced romantic love can probably relate to this seemingly anomalous statement.

तुझे देखा तो यह जाना सनम

Another Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol number, song and dance, ... Bollywood has an interesting way to describe love. For example, in this song, the female lover declares:
"You called out, ... I came ...
What promise is bigger than love?"

नूर-ऐ-खुदा

The poet brings out a recall of unhappy events, and a plea to God to produce justice, by the character in the film.

Other singers of this song are Shankar Mahadevan & Adnan Sami. (I could not fit these names in the Labels field). That Shankar Mahadevan has brought out a musical piece that sounds like an original Arabic singer's rendering, is a testament to the universal nature of music and, of course, to Shankar's musical abilities.
