आंसू भरी हैं यह जीवन की राहें

Mukesh has no match when rendering sad songs.

This song is based on the raag ♫यमन कल्याण.

... ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ...

There are not too many simple songs that teach the essence of good living like this one. I got the lyrics from the web and have created a Hindi version. There are a couple of translations on the web too:
  1. By Plano Balagokulam
  2. By Vanarsena Pathshala

And, of course, there is the YouYube video for you to get started:

कभी कभी मेरे दिल में ...

There is a very valuable translation, and summary, of this song on the web and most of what is presented here is based on that: http://indiansongtranslations.blogspot.com/2008/07/english-translation-of-kabhi-kabhi-mere.html.

तुम आ गए हो, नूर आ गया हैं ...

In this song, the man sings about the importance of the new find, his lover, for his life. Without someone like her, life was proceeding aimlessly, etc. Although perhaps this is not always the case in real life, there is some truth to it: A marriage seems to provide proper structure to fulfil many - all? - aspects of life.

Translation is inspired by http://www.hindilyrics.net/translation-Aandhi/Tum-Aa-Gaye-Ho.html. I have changed some translations with the belief that the changes are for the better. You can also enjoy a YouTube video below.

नूर = light

... हैं गुज़ारिश ...

[Note. Notation for humming needs to be added.]
You have to see the movie to appreciate the context for the song, but suffice it to say that the lyricist, Prasoon Joshi, has deftly described the tumult in a man's heart as he awaits a 'yes' from his lover.
The meanings presented here are based on those provided by another blogger, The Bollywood Fan. (Netizens are welcome to comment on the meanings and, in fact, on the lyrics too). There are several music videos on YouTube, and one is here.
Another rendering by Soumen Nandi of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2009.
Google Hindi-to-English Translator translates गुज़ारिश as 'request'.
